عن أبي موسى الأشعري رضي الله عنه قال: دخلتُ عَلى النَبيِّ -صلَّى الله عليه وسلَّم- أنَا ورجلاَن مِنْ بَنِي عَمِّي، فَقَال أحدهما: يا رسول الله، أمرنا على بعض ما ولاك الله عز وجل وقال الآخر مثل ذلك، فقال: «إِنَّا وَالله لاَ نُوَلِّي هَذَا العَمَلَ أَحَدًا سَأَلَهُ، أَو أَحَدًا حَرِصَ عَلَيهِ».
Ebû Mûsâ el-Eş’arî -radıyallahu anh- şöyle dedi: Amcamın oğullarından ikisiyle Nebi -sallallahu aleyhi ve sellem-‘in huzuruna girmiştim. Onlardan biri: Yâ Rasulallah! İdaresini Allah -Azze ve Celle-‘nin sana verdiği görevlerden birine bizi yönetici tayin et, dedi. Öteki amcaoğlu da bunun benzeri bir şey söyledi. Bunun üzerine Rasûlullah -sallallahu aleyhi ve sellem- şöyle buyurdu: «Vallahi biz isteyeni veya görev almada gözü olanı yönetici yapmıyoruz.»
Abû Mûsâ Al-Ashʽarî (qu’Allah l’agrée) relate : « J’entrai chez le Prophète (sur lui la paix et le salut) avec deux de mes cousins. L’un d’eux dit : « Ô, Messager d’Allah ! Place-moi à la tête d’une partie de ce dont Allah t’a donné le commandement ! l’autre dit la même chose – Par Allah ! répondit le Prophète (sur lui la paix et le salut), jamais nous ne confions cette tâche à quelqu’un qui la demande ou qui y aspire. »
Dari Abu Musa Al-Asy’ari -raḍiyallāhu ‘anhu- ia berkata, “Aku masuk menemui Nabi -ṣallallāhu ‘alaihi wa sallam- bersama dua orang sepupuku. Lantas salah satu dari keduanya mengatakan, \”Wahai Rasulullah! Angkatlah kami sebagai pemimpin atas sebagian wilayah yang Allah -‘Azza wa Jalla- kuasakan kepada Anda.” Yang lain juga mengatakan ucapan seperti itu. Maka beliau bersabda, “Demi Allah, sesungguhnya kami tidak menyerahkan pekerjaan (jabatan) ini kepada orang yang memintanya atau orang yang berambisi mengejarnya.”
Abu Mūsa al-Ash‘ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I and two of my paternal cousins entered upon the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him). One of them said: “O Messenger of Allah, appoint us rulers over some of what Allah, the Almighty, has entrusted you with.” The other said the same. The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: “By Allah! We do not entrust this post to anyone who seeks it or is keen to attain it.’”
